Teacher’s Day
WFGOEI celebrated Teacher’s Day on 5th September, 2020, which also marks the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, an Indian philosopher, academic, and statesman who served as the second President of India (1962–1967).
It was a delight to see the Pre-Primary and Primary Section students take the lead with total confidence on the virtual platform. There was an excellent Welcome Speech to the Chief Guest, Sri Dayashankar Singh, Chairman of WFGOEI. This was followed by the Welcome Dance by Class 4th, Primary section gave an outstanding acting performance. The Entertainment Programme that ensued was an immeasurable show of zest and zeal expressed through renditions of dances and songs, not forgetting the hilarious mimic that tickled the viewers into splits of laughter.
The Chief Guest, in his Address, appreciated the efforts of the students to pay a tribute to the teachers as recognition of their impeccable contribution, the beacons in the enormous realm of knowledge as catalysts in shaping the students for the future. He said the students’ performances were commendable and could pave their way as future celebrities in their potential talents. He also appreciated the lightening adaptation of the Teachers to Online teaching to reach out to the students despite the Lockdown. Very specifically he spoke of the Teachers’ never daunted interest to learn and desire for more knowledge. He commended the Parents efforts in supporting the teachers as they together coached their wards in performing their best for the programme.
The Academic Director, Mr.Rakesh Kumar, in his opening speech aptly said that there is ‘nothing more rewarding’ than seeing one’s students bloom into confident individuals, a reflection of his cherished memories from the previous batches.
It was the first time in school history that parents were also a part of the Teacher’s Day Celebrations due to the virtual platform. Many parents welcomed this opportunity to wish the teachers and the management on this occassion. They expressed their gratitude and extolled the educational instruction that WFGOEI was reaching out to their students from the online platform.
